The 2nd Edition is full of information and is a must read for any marina designer.Marinadesigner.com is the source for muck of the information.. "Great reference BUT its not the most current edition" according to RIslander. This is a great reference for marina owners, operators and designers. Just be aware that this is a reprint of the first edition (1991) not the second edition (2000). There is a lot of similarities between the two editions however the second edition has more information/specifications on planning for mega yachts. Why they did not reprint the second edition is beyond me. Would be nice if the publisher could find a contributor to help them prepare a Great reference BUT its not the most current edition This is a great reference for marina owners, operators and designers. Their contribution through this book will be recognized for many years to come-both herein North America and in the many countries throughout the world now developing recreational facilities. The conference has been built on meeting educational needs of professionals practicing in this field. Its authors are experienced teachers and practicing professionals. MARINAS and Small Craft Barbors defines the state-of-the-art in marina and small craft harbor planning, design, and construction. I commend the authors for their excellent work.. Our engineering outreach program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has for nearly two decades affered an annual state-of-the-art conference on marina planning, design, and construction. MARINAS and Small Craft Barbors is a very comprehensive and readable work and belongs in the hands of all those people responsible for planning and building waterfront facilities in the 1990s and beyond. The authors, Bruce Tobiasson and Ron Kollmeyer, have for many years partici pated as guest faculty at these conferences. By having done so, they have sharpened their instructional skills, broadened their knowledge base about state-of-the-art practice, and developed a compassion to help others in the field
