The Mets received great pitching from left handed pitcher, Jerry Koosman, who won two games and hitting from Ron Swoboda (.400 batting average) and Donn Clendenon, Series-MVP. The Mets won in five games in all low-scoring contests that shocked major league baseball that year.. Summer of '69 is about baseball in 1969. Clendenon hit three home runs and 4 RBI's and had a .357 batting average. The Jets were 18 ½ point underdogs in the Super Bowl. The Orioles went 109-53 (.673 Pct.) in the regular season.
