If one is merely reading this book for knowledge it is full of great stories that shed light on the law enforcement sub-culture. Any aspiring law enforcement manager can learn a lot from this book. The examples the author uses are from past incidents but the concepts that are taught are still valid today (ask me how I know).If one is required, or interested, in using this book for a promotional exam I would cauti. Becca said Love this book!. I had to order this book for a graduate course I was taking this semester. I found it to be an interesting book, unlike other books I have to buy for classes. It holds your interest and the author explains concept in easy to understand terms.. I am retired after 19 yrs in law enforcement. Gary I am retired after 19 yrs in law enforcement. I can see where everything in his book makes sense, and I have experienced portions of what he writes about in both of the organizations I once worked. This also works in the civilian sector, probably more in a medium to larger company.
