DESCRIPTION:
Angels of Death takes readers to Arizona, inside the biggest American police undercover operation to infiltrate the bikers; to British Columbia, Canada, where wealthy bikers dominate the organized crime pyramid; to Australia where the “bikies” shoot-it-out with police; to Curaçao where terrorist organizations funnel drugs to Dutch bikers; and to the streets of Oslo, Copenhagen, and Helsinki where a murderous biker war saw rocket attacks and bombs turn Scandinavia into a war zone. While the media has continued to toast the Hells Angel icon Sonny Barger as an American legend, the facts tell another story — they are America’s major crime export. Meanwhile, the world’s most famous Hells Angel, Sonny Barger, is feted by the media on his global book tour. With an estimated 2,500 full-patch members in 25 countries, the Hells Angels have inspired a global subculture of biker gangs that are among the most feared and violent underworld players.. A woman named Cynthia Garcia is stabbed to death and dumped in the Arizona desert after partying at a Hells Angels clubhouse in Arizona; three bullet-ridden bodies of bikers turn up in a river in Holland; a retired policeman is killed when his car is bombed in Australia
Lot's of research, but biased I have read numerous books on bikers, and this is one of the better reads. But like all books on the subject matter, it seems to go something like this.Guy patches into club. Guy gets involved with drugs and needs money. Guy gets busted by the cops. Guy turns evidence, and everyone else goes to jail but him.Cop patches into club. Cop sets up deals. Cop takes their money, arrests them for having the goods.Face it, if you look hard enough anywhere you're going to find what you're looking for. You press the right buttons, you get a violent reaction. This i. Get your facts straight I find it hard to take these writers seriously. They write that the world's largest and oldest biker rally is held in Sturgis, COLORADO! Nope, it's Sturgis, South Dakota. They also write about a ride from the Phoenix area to Florence, Colorado and describe it as 80 miles. Fact is, it's closer to 800 miles! Makes you wonder how many other mistakes slipped by BOTH of the authors AND proofreaders, as both these facts are pretty easy to confirm.. "Filled With False Claims, Hollywoodized Accounts, And Overblown Egos" according to Dave-O. As other reviewers have pointed out, this book features several claims in regards to Sonny Barger and the Hells Angels MC that are false, over blown, Hollywoodized, and at times just plain made up. The account regarding Jay Dobyns and Operation Black Biscuit is similar to Dobyns own account in his book about the case. One sided, glamorous to Dobyns and the ATF, misrepresentational of the actual facts of the case, and devoid of the end result, which were allegations that Dobyns and his team broke the law and behaved in a currupt manner in their quest to

From Booklist Taking direct aim at the avuncular persona head Angel Ralph "Sonny" Barger promotes himself as embodying, Sher and Marsden reveal the worldwide crime cartel constituted by the Hell's Angels motorcycle club. Telling tales of murder and revenge at the hands of chopper pilots in the Netherlands, Australia, the U.S., and elsewhere, they cite control of the drug trade as the root of a criminal empire that also embraces prostitution and sundry other interests. Sher and Marsden bring readers up to speed with an ace true-crime saga whose last chapter is far from written. Chronicling worldwide misdeeds and mayhem, they focus on how Barger personally directs a crime organization that has success
