I enjoyed both Lenny's low key attitude, but fire and determination to keep her town out of harm's way. And Sloane is so sneaky, you never knew what she was going to do and who she was going to do it with or to. It was entertaining and had me laughing when both main characters let down their guards. There were other slinky characters in Pinedale too.. "This novel is the complete package!" according to RLynne. Roberts has brought her readers a great story set in a particularly beautiful part of Colorado. The gorgeous cover of this book, showing the area, completely captivated this reader. In chapter two, she grabs readers with an exciting plane crash, and in chapter four introduces Rocket, a dog who becomes one of the cast of characters! And what a cast: Lenny Barclay is a widow who is sorely missing her partner of many years. She also has a son, but he is estranged from her. Sloane McHenry is the CEO of Wilderness Campaign, an outdoor clothing and gear chain. Sloane has fixed Pinedale, the. I also loved the setting in Colorado I read this book in one night because I really wanted to know what happened next! Many plot twists and interesting characters. I also loved the setting in Colorado. The characters have flaws but I liked that aspect. I did wonder that the character Sloane never was held accountable on some of her issues but in my head that is what lies ahead. This is a hopeful ending, not perfectly tied up with a bow.
