DESCRIPTION:
Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games," a fight to the death on live TV. The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed.

"Unexpected Direction, but Perfection (Potential spoilers, but pretty vague)" according to A. R. Bovey. This was a brilliant conclusion to the trilogy. I can only compare it to "Ender's Game" - and that is extremely high praise, indeed. When I first closed the book last night, I felt shattered, empty, and drained. And that was the point, I think. I'm glad I waited to review the book because I'm not sure what my review would have been. For the first two books, I think most of us readers have all been laboring under the assum. Beautiful set at a reasonable price. I love the series and loaned it out to several friends and family. By the time the books made it back to me they were more than a little beat up. I passed them along to a young cousin of mine. When I saw this set I knew I could buy it to keep for myself. The foil set is gorgeous and even though they are just paperbacks and will get creased with time the case will stay nice. This is a series that is meant for young adult
