Excellent Bible for people who need an easier to read and understand Bible Amazon Customer I purchased the bible as a gift for an older lady in our church who reads at about a 3/4 grade level. She has a real hunger for the word but had a hard time reading and understanding other versions. What makes this Bible so good is that it simplifies the language but doesn't compromise the message and it can easily be used with Bible studies.I just wish there were large print versions more widely available in this version. There are a lot of adults who would benefit from this version but most versions are geared towards children. Our friend isn't an. Included in this Bible are stories of prisoners who found faith and purpose through the Bible. However, this Bible can be used and enjoyed by anyone. The stories are inspiring, and the translation is simple but not banal. One useful feature is an introduction before each book. There is also a study section in the beginning.
