Tete said Too Beautiful for Kindle. It is my opinion that Kindle fails to do justice to books of art such as this one. My gripe about Kindle aside, I do enjoy the poems and the pictures in this collection. Reflecting on the author's observations of light and its effects on his emotion, one suspects that he must lead a double life as a photographer. Imagery so vivid that I felt like I was transported into Achilles's world. Through simple and keen observation of his surroundings, I was absorbed into a world of isolation, of winter, of a quiet sea, of light and darkness. Coupled with photos which tie to the themes of the poems, the book is perfect!

Forty-four poems coupled with a handful of photographs, the subject matter of this volume varies widely - from half remembered dreams to vivid memories; from seasonal changes to rusted industrial landscapes.Only seventeen syllables long, a haiku must be brief. It captures something instantaneous. The process of distilling an idea or emotion to fit within the confines imposed by that structure is what produces the unique character and beauty of haiku.
